Submits agency financial reports regarding Supported Housing to the Office of Mental Health and/or other oversight entities.
Duties and Responsibilities This position must be resourceful by providing consumers with options related to their financial situation and prepare documentation and notification to Social Security/Social Services/ Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance or other governmental agencies.
Booking
Responsibilities:
Completes tenant rent calculations work sheet as needed.
Request and tracks Supported Housing tenant financial documentation and all resident financial information and documentation for the certified system.
Works with Clients and program staff to collect account receivables for delinquent accounts.
Prepares monthly rental receipts as needed.
Consumer
Responsibilities:
Meets with consumers with mental health needs and/or program staff when they owe Program Fees, rent and or added rent.
Travels to all governmental/private agencies as needed ( i.
e.
social security visits etc.
) Conducts prospective consumer pre-admission financial activities.
Completes applications for entitlements/benefits for which individuals are eligible.
Includes new applications, recertifications, rep payee reports, etc.
Provides oversight to program staff regarding assisting consumers with accessing/maintaining entitlements.
Writes/reviews all Financial Agreements and monitors compliance with these agreements.
Conducts and/or participates in financial meetings with consumers and/or program staff as needed.
Acts as liaison between program staff and business office regarding consumer-billing issues.
Maintains records of consumer financial and entitlement information for all Audit related purposes.
Negotiates with the county/state entitlement systems to advocate on behalf of the consumers and notifies them when a consumer's address changes and/or other related financial information.
Handles all details relating to SAIL status as Representative Payee for designated consumers.
Provides ongoing oversight to consumer billing.
Contacts collateral sources as needed, regarding financial issues.
Conducts consumer financial discharge planning and post-discharge financial activities in conjunction with program staff related to securing payment for outstanding bills.
Meets with Senior Case Coordinator(s) or designated program staff monthly to ascertain issues of concern; Follows up with staff and consumers to resolve problems in early stages; Assists in resolution of financial issues.
Overall
Responsibilities:
Be proactive to provide feedback or new suggestions to enhance, develop and/or implement departmental procedures to direct supervisor as needed.
Participates in staff development (ie:
attends training to enhance job knowledge, training agency staff to enhance their understanding of entitlement and financial issues).
Develops and maintains filing system of resources and information related to entitlement issues.
Submits all documentation in a timely manner and participates in regularly scheduled supervision meetings.
Accepts and follows through with other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Cross- trained in responsibilities of Financial Coordinators in case of absence.
Learn and adhere to all agency policies and procedures applicable to this program or within the Finance Department.
Creates and fosters inclusive and diverse internal and external partnerships to support recipients.
